Sugar Mercado Is Crowned Mrs. Philippines Universe 2025 - 'Kaya Ko Palang Maging Queen Kahit Isa Na 'Kong Ina'

Sugar Mercado just proved that motherhood and pageant dreams can go hand in hand — and she did it in the most heartfelt way.
On Instagram, the TV personality and former dancer proudly announced that she is the newly crowned Mrs. Philippines Universe 2025. In a touching caption, Sugar poured her heart out, showing deep gratitude to everyone who believed in her — and even those who doubted her.
"Maraming salamat po sa pagkakataon, tiwala, na kaya ko palang maging Queen kahit isa na ‘kong Ina 🥹❤️🙏," she wrote.
Sugar also gave a sweet shoutout to the people closest to her heart: her children, whom she dedicated her crown to, and her siblings — including Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol, and fellow strong women Madam Inutz and Glamorous Mary Letim.
“Sa mga anak ko, para sa inyo lahat ‘to,” she continued, her love and motivation shining through every word.
Of course, Sugar didn’t forget to thank the people behind the scenes who helped make this possible — including Sir Wilbert Tolentino, whom she lovingly called “Boss Mima.”
What’s even more inspiring is her openness about the journey — acknowledging that some people didn’t believe in her, but instead of letting that bring her down, she turned it into motivation.
“Sa mga taong naniniwala sakin at hindi naniniwala na kaya ko, kasama kayo lahat sa korona ko. Lahat ng 'yan naging lakas ko para matupad ang pangarap ko,” she said.
With her crown held high, Sugar ended her message by giving all the glory to God, saying:
“Lahat ng ito pinararangalan ko Panginoon Diyos, Jesus — sa Kanya lahat ng papuri at pasasalamat.”
