A local Takoyaki store named Taragis found itself in the crosshairs of netizens after a seemingly harmless April Fools' Day challenge took a turn for the worse.

The store's Facebook post, titled "KAYA MO BANG GAWIN PARA SA 100k?!" (Can you do the challenge for ₱100k?!), offered a substantial reward of ₱100,000 to anyone brave enough to tattoo the Taragis logo on their forehead.

However, what started as a joke quickly escalated when a netizen took the challenge seriously and permanently inked the store's name on his forehead. The individual's action sparked a debate on social media, highlighting the fine line between humor and potential harm.

In response to the backlash, Taragis issued a statement, claiming that the April Fools' Day post was intended purely for entertainment and should not have been taken seriously. The store emphasized the importance of reading comprehension and urged caution on April Fools' Day, reiterating that they cannot be held responsible for the consequences of individuals misinterpreting their posts.

The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of ill-conceived pranks, reminding both businesses and individuals alike to exercise restraint and sensitivity when participating in April Fools' Day activities.
