Tropical Depression Ada continues to move over the Philippine Sea east of Mindanao, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph with gusts up to 55 kph. The system is moving west-northwest at 10 kph, with strong winds reaching 500 km from its center.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao:

• Visayas: Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar
• Mindanao: Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur

The highest signal during Ada’s passage is expected to be Signal No. 2. Residents in affected areas should prepare for strong winds and possible minor damage.

Rain, Gusts, and Rough Seas

The Northeast Monsoon combined with Ada may bring strong gusts and heavy rains across northern Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol, Central Visayas, and Caraga. Coastal waters are expected to have rough seas up to 4 meters, with small boats advised not to venture out.

Forecast and Safety Advice

Ada is expected to continue northwestward, possibly making landfall over Eastern Visayas on Friday or Saturday and Catanduanes over the weekend. It may strengthen into a tropical storm within 24 hours.

Authorities urge residents in high-risk areas to follow local safety instructions and prepare early. The next PAGASA bulletin will be issued at 11:00 p.m. today.
