Two Chinese Nationals Nabbed After Bold Kidnapping In Batangas-PNP Strikes Fast

In a daring but quick-turnaround operation, the Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully arrested two Chinese nationals believed to be behind a kidnapping incident in Nasugbu, Batangas. The arrests were made just days after the victims—a pair of Chinese nationals and a Korean national—were taken and later released.

The whole thing went down early morning on May 2 in Barangay Balaytigue. The three foreign nationals were allegedly held for ransom, but were freed the following day after negotiations. From the get-go, investigators suspected that someone from the inside might’ve been involved—and that hunch turned out to be a game-changer.

Fast forward to May 4: operatives from the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and Police Regional Office 4A spotted the suspects at a checkpoint in Bacoor, Cavite. The two men—identified as 27-year-old Huang Yuze and 29-year-old Zhao Li Shan, both Chinese nationals—tried to escape on foot into a nearby residential area. But the police were ready. After a short chase, both were caught and taken into custody.

What they were carrying added more weight to the case. Cops found a .45 caliber pistol, a 9mm handgun, and several rounds of ammo on the suspects. All these are now part of the evidence being pieced together to build a solid case.

On May 6, the duo faced inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice for kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, and more. The Bureau of Immigration is also preparing additional charges against them.

PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil praised the swift coordination of the police teams, saying, “This swift and coordinated response demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protect everyone within our borders—Filipinos and foreign nationals alike.”

He also had a strong warning for criminal groups: the Philippines is not a safe space for transnational crime.

As the investigation continues, the PNP assured the public that they’re doubling down on efforts to keep the country safe—whether you’re a Filipino or a foreign visitor.
