Dark fantasy action RPG VANRAN is finally showing what it’s really made of.

Independent Korean studio BECUZUS, led by director Sungjae Lee, has unveiled the first official gameplay trailer for VANRAN, set to premiere this January via IGN and major global gaming outlets. Unlike earlier cinematic teasers, this reveal features actual in-game footage, including real-time combat and large-scale boss fights.

Already showcased at ChinaJoy and Gamescom, VANRAN has gained early buzz for its fast-paced combat, towering bosses, and its signature Chain system, which allows fluid movement and seamless combat transitions.

Set in a corrupted underworld, the game follows Kaleb, a lone warrior seeking redemption amid demonic forces. Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy and Greek mythology, the story unfolds naturally through gameplay, with player choices shaping progression and outcomes. There are no fixed endings, emphasizing agency and consequence.

Combat rewards aggression with responsive mechanics like parries, guard breaks, and dynamic enemy AI that adapts in real time. Built on BECUZUS’s proprietary engine, the game balances soulslike challenge with accessibility options for newcomers.

Following the trailer, a free Steam demo will launch worldwide, featuring Chapter 1 and fully playable story-driven sequences.

VANRAN is set for release on PC and consoles in December 2026. Players can wishlist the game on Steam ahead of the demo launch.
