Vice President Sara Duterte Responds To Senate Impeachment Summons, Seeks Dismissal Of Complaint

The camp of Vice President Sara Duterte has formally submitted a response to the summons issued by the Senate Impeachment Court, pushing for the outright dismissal of the complaint filed against her.
On Monday, a 34-page document detailing Duterte’s defense was delivered to the office of Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. via a messenger. According to her legal team, the impeachment complaint is “void ab initio” — legally invalid from the very beginning.
While Vice President Duterte did not appear personally before the Senate, her office made sure the answer was filed within the day. The document was officially received at 5:49 p.m., underscoring her camp’s intent to meet the required deadline while firmly rejecting the basis of the complaint.
