Villar Fires Back: Senator Denies Claims Raised In Blue Ribbon Probe

MANILA — Senator Mark Villar has firmly rejected the allegations brought up during Friday’s Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing, calling the claims unfounded and urging the public to remain vigilant against what he says are misleading accusations.
In a statement posted online, Villar issued a strong denial. “I vehemently and categorically deny the accusations made today in the Blue Ribbon Committee. Isa po itong malaking kasinungalingan,” he said.
He cautioned the public against drawing conclusions based solely on a single affidavit, stressing that such documents can be altered or crafted to fit certain agendas. “I ask the public to be discerning and not to rush judgment based solely on a person’s affidavit, which may be manufactured or tailored fit for his or other people’s convenience,” he added.
Villar also highlighted his years in public service, saying his record speaks for itself. “I stand by my untarnished record as a long-serving public servant as a Representative, DPWH Secretary, and Senator of this Republic,” he said.
While the Blue Ribbon Committee has yet to release additional details, Villar’s response hints at a contentious process ahead as discussions on the allegations continue.
