Vice President Sara Duterte has accused President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of committing several impeachable offenses—though she made clear that her camp has no plans to file an impeachment complaint.
Speaking candidly, Duterte pointed to the President’s signature on the General Appropriations Act (GAA) as what she called the “best evidence” of his involvement in alleged budget insertions.
She argued that the President bears responsibility for allowing the insertions, calling it a culpable violation of the Constitution. Duterte also said Marcos committed a betrayal of public trust when he refused to undergo a drug test.
The Vice President added that the administration’s move to allow the International Criminal Court (ICC) to operate in the country was unconstitutional and ran counter to national sovereignty.
Despite her strong accusations, Duterte admitted they have no intention of pursuing impeachment proceedings.
"Of course not, why will we waste our time in filing an impeachment complaint na alam naman nating hindi papansinin ng House of Representatives,” VP Sara said..
