Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her support for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy amid the ongoing legal issues surrounding him and the Sonshine Media Network Inc. (SMNI). Duterte emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and justice in addressing the allegations against Quiboloy.

Duterte raised concerns about the fairness of the hearings, stating that it appears Quiboloy has been prematurely judged as guilty. She pointed out that the hearings seem to rely on testimony from witnesses who conceal their identities, making it challenging to establish the credibility of their claims.

Many, including Vice President Duterte, believe that Quiboloy is facing an unjust attack rather than a fair legal process. The indefinite suspension of SMNI, a broadcasting network associated with Quiboloy, has also become a contentious issue, sparking debates about media freedom.

Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, Duterte stressed the need for a fair and impartial trial. She acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing hearings and the gravity of the allegations against Quiboloy.

Vice President Duterte quoted Matthew 5:11-12, reminding the public of the biblical perspective on facing persecution and false accusations. She urged everyone to find guidance in these verses and to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

The Vice President concluded her statement by emphasizing the importance of prayer for justice and truth. Duterte underscored that justice cannot be achieved through trial by publicity but requires a fair day in court. She called for unity and resilience in facing the current challenges, expressing hope that the legal process would lead to a just resolution.
