MANILA — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has reiterated its role as a professional, disciplined, and non-partisan institution, emphasizing its loyalty to the Constitution and democratic principles amid upcoming peaceful assemblies.

In a statement issued on Thursday, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. highlighted that recent surveys show 70% of Filipinos support the AFP’s non-partisan stance, while 73% express high trust in the organization. “These numbers are deeply humbling and strengthen our commitment to serve with even greater integrity and dedication,” he said.

Addressing speculation circulating online, Gen. Brawner assured the public that the AFP remains focused on its mandate and will not engage in any action that violates the Constitution. Not today, not tomorrow, and certainly not under my watch.

The AFP will continue monitoring information that could affect public safety, working with partner agencies in a lawful and coordinated manner. The statement comes ahead of scheduled peaceful gatherings on 16–18 November and 30 November, which the AFP said it will help ensure remain orderly, safe, and consistent with the law.

“We call on organizers and participants to help uphold their commitment to peaceful conduct. Your cooperation is essential in preventing any attempt by infiltrators or outside elements to take advantage of these events for unlawful purposes,” Gen. Brawner added.

The military also urged Filipinos to exercise unity, compassion, and discipline, especially as the nation continues to recover from recent calamities. “Our rights are powerful tools for democracy. Using them responsibly strengthens, rather than divides, our country,” the statement emphasized.

The AFP concluded by reaffirming its pledge to preserve peace, support lawful civic expression, and protect the stability and democratic institutions of the Republic. “You can rely on us to stand firm, to serve honorably, and to protect every Filipino,” Gen. Brawner said.
