After 36 Sweet Years, Chocolate Lovers Inc. Bids Goodbye

After more than three decades of serving home bakers, small business owners, and chocolate lovers across Metro Manila, Chocolate Lovers Inc. is officially closing its doors on December 27, 2025.
Owner Annie Carmona Lim, who has become a familiar face in the baking community, shared the emotional announcement with customers.
Lim explained that the store will continue selling its best-sellers — including chocolate, buttercream, and other fast-moving baking essentials — all the way until the final day of operations. She reassured loyal patrons that the team remains committed to providing the same service they’ve always offered, especially during the busy Christmas season.
“What matters most to us is that we don’t let our customers down,” she said, reflecting on the long-standing dedication of the store to hobbyists, entrepreneurs, and holiday bakers.
Lim also opened up about the reason behind the closure. After 36 years of running the beloved store, she is now ready to slow down, spend time abroad with her family, and step away from the demanding daily operations. Her children, she shared, have chosen not to take over the business.
She added that the property is still up for sale, and if no buyer comes forward, they may consider renting it out. She encouraged customers to follow their Facebook page for any updates.
In her heartfelt message, Lim repeatedly thanked suppliers, former students, and loyal customers who supported Chocolate Lovers from day one.
“Itong negosyo na ’to, baby ko ’to,” she said, holding back tears. “Tatlong taon ko nang iniiyakan ’to. Pero kailangan ko nang magpaalam.”
As Chocolate Lovers prepares to say goodbye, the community it nurtured for decades is feeling the loss — and remembering the store that became a home for countless bakers’ dreams.
