'Baha Sa Luneta 2.0' To Surge On Nov. 30 As KBKK Pressures Gov't

MANILA, Philippines — The Kilusang Bayan Kontra Kurakot (KBKK) is calling for an even bigger turnout on November 30 for “Baha sa Luneta 2.0,” saying public protests have already forced the government to act on the flood control corruption scandal — but not enough to deliver real accountability.
KBKK credited the public’s sustained actions — from Baha sa Luneta to Black Friday protests, student walkouts, and noise barrages — for pressuring Malacañang into replacing several officials linked to the controversy. But the group said these changes are merely “pampahupa ng galit,” insisting bigger names must still be held accountable.
“Hindi ito sapat. Kailangang may makulong,” KBKK said, stressing that the scale of the alleged multibillion-peso scheme makes it impossible that only a few officials were involved.
The group is demanding an independent public investigation, criminal and civil cases against all implicated, and major reforms to stop pork barrel schemes, illegal insertions, and ghost projects.
KBKK urged workers, students, church groups, transport groups, and communities nationwide to join the rally at Luneta Park, 9 a.m., vowing that all voices — from calls for accountability to louder demands for leadership change — will be heard.
“Lahat ng sangkot, dapat managot,” the group declared, promising protests will continue until the truth is exposed and real reforms are achieved.
