In step with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas vision of building a healthier and more resilient nation through inclusive infrastructure, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officially broke ground on the Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena in Barangay Molino IV, Bacoor City, Cavite on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The long-awaited project marks an important milestone for Bacoor and neighboring communities, promising not just a modern sports facility, but also a new space that fosters health, active lifestyles, and community spirit. Funded with an initial allocation of ₱250 million from the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the development covers 1.42 hectares within a 5.2-hectare city-owned property.
Once completed, the arena will feature a thoughtfully designed road network, sidewalks, an outdoor covered court, open activity area, statue and monument plaza, decorative walls, landscaped plant boxes, benches, and lighting. These amenities are envisioned to create a welcoming and functional environment where residents can gather, exercise, and celebrate local pride.
“This is not just a facility—it’s an investment in the future of the community’s health, well-being, and unity,” emphasized DPWH Region 4A Director Jovel G. Mendoza during the ceremony.
The event drew notable public figures, including Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado Revilla and Bacoor City Mayor Strike B. Revilla, both of whom expressed strong support for the project and underscored its role in uplifting the quality of life for Bacoorenos.
Phase 1 of the sports arena is being implemented by the DPWH Regional Office 4A and is targeted for completion by December 2025.
With construction now underway, the Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena stands as a testament to how inclusive infrastructure can help bring communities closer, encourage healthier living, and contribute to the Bagong Pilipinas vision of a stronger, more resilient nation.
