Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon isn’t mincing words — the evidence forwarded to the Office of the Ombudsman against former Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez and resigned lawmaker Zaldy Co is as real as it gets.

According to Dizon, the recommendation submitted on November 21 is backed by sworn testimonies and actual documents, including project contracts that directly mention or link the two lawmakers to the alleged irregularities.

“These aren’t rumors. These are sworn statements and official contracts,” Dizon stressed, noting that every piece of evidence was thoroughly vetted before reaching the Ombudsman.

The statement comes as the flood control controversy continues to widen, with investigators digging deeper into questionable projects and money trails. Earlier this week, Co already faced graft charges in a separate flood control case — and more could be on the way depending on what the Ombudsman finds in the latest batch of evidence.
