Farewell To A Feisty Icon: Lolit Solis Passes Away, Remembered With Love And Gratitude

The Philippine entertainment industry is mourning the loss of one of its most colorful and outspoken figures, Manay Lolit Solis, who passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.
The news was shared by Salve Asis in a heartfelt social media post: “Rest in Paradise, Nay! Our beloved Manay Lolit Solis has peacefully joined her Creator last July 3, 2025. Manay Lolit leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will always cherish her memory. We remember Manay Lolit as a feisty and staunch loyal supporter, manager, and friend. We love you, our dearest Manay, and you will forever be in our hearts. Rest well now in the loving embrace of our Lord. #NayLolit #ClassicLolita 馃檹.”
Known for her sharp wit, fearless commentaries, and undeniable influence as a talent manager and columnist, Lolit Solis touched countless lives in and out of showbiz. Her journey, however, ended after a period of illness—an ordeal she openly shared with her followers through her last Instagram post. In it, she expressed both vulnerability and hope:
“Buti na lang at ang babait ng mga doctors ko… Talagang inalagaan nila ako at hindi iniwan. Ang hirap pala ng maysakit. Hopeless, helpless, weak ka… Pero alam mo naman si GOD alam niya when or where ibibigay sa iyo ang mga bagay. So grateful na ngayon older na ako nangyari ito… I feel sad, weak, but hopeful. Wishing na sana gumaling ako agad at maging active uli. I love life. I love my works. I love my friends… Pero talaga siguro ganuon ang buhay, dumarating mga bagay sa oras ng hindi mo alam.”
True to form, even while hospitalized, she found humor and candor, poking fun at the news cycle and expressing her trademark irreverence.
Tributes quickly poured in from colleagues and loved ones. Niño Muhlach posted simply, “Paalam Nanay Lolit Solis,” while Jolo Revilla wrote a moving message:
“Rest in Peace Nanay Lolit Solis. Salamat sa lahat ng pagmamahal at pagsuporta mo sa aming buong pamilya lalo na kay papa. Salamat sa pag-aalaga mo sa akin noong ikaw ay tumayo bilang aking manager noong ako ay artista pa. Lubos po kami nagdadalamhati sa iyong pagkawala. We will miss you nanay, mahal na mahal ka namin.”
Her daughter Sneezy Solis, changed her profile and cover photos to black and to an image of herself with Lolit—a quiet gesture of love and grief.
Lolit Solis was many things: a trailblazer, a loyal friend, a fierce critic, and a caring mentor. She may have left the stage, but her voice and her spirit will echo in the memories of those she inspired and supported.
