It was a day to remember for Team Pilipinas as Filipino athletes delivered a stunning all-around performance, racking up gold medals across triathlon, esports, Muay Thai, and modern pentathlon at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
The medal haul began early with a strong showing in triathlon. Kira Ellis, Raven Faith Alcoseba, and Kim Mangrobang powered through a grueling course to give the Philippines its first gold of the day in the Women’s Triathlon Relay. Their victory set the tone for what would become a golden surge for the national team.
Moments later, the men followed suit. Inaki Emil Lorbes, Fernando Jose Casares, and Matthew Justine Hermosa matched the women’s success by topping the Men’s Triathlon Team Relay, extending Team Pilipinas’ momentum as competition intensified.
The triathlon dominance didn’t stop there. The Philippines capped the day with a complete sweep after striking gold once more in the Mixed Team Relay, with Kira Ellis, Fernando Jose Casares, Andrew Kim Remolino, and Raven Faith Alcoseba combining for another winning effort.
Away from the triathlon course, Filipino gamers also delivered. Team SIBOL showcased its mastery in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, sweeping Malaysia 4-0 in the gold medal match. The win marked the Philippines’ fourth SEA Games esports title since the discipline was introduced in 2019.
In Muay Thai, Islay Erika Bomogao proved her grit by edging Thailand’s Arissara Noon-Eiad, 29-28, to claim gold in the Women’s Muay Combat 45kg division. It was her second medal of the Games after winning bronze in the Wai Kru event. Fellow Filipino fighter LJ Rafael Yasay added to the tally, scoring a decisive second-round knockout against Malaysia’s Insyad Rumijam to secure another Muay Thai gold.
Team Pilipinas’ golden run continued in modern pentathlon, where Melvin Sacay emerged on top in the Men’s Laser Run Individual event. Sacay clocked 10:41.55 and scored 659 points, sealing yet another gold for the Philippines.
From endurance races to digital battles and combat sports, Filipino athletes showed depth, heart, and consistency—turning the day into a powerful statement of national pride and momentum for Team Pilipinas at the SEA Games.
