Reports suggesting that the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its armed wing, the New People’s Army (NPA), declared a holiday ceasefire for 2025 have been dismissed by government authorities. Officials from the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have labeled such claims as propaganda, emphasizing that no formal truce has been agreed upon.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and AFP affirmed that peace and order operations will continue during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Security forces remain on high alert to ensure the safety of communities across the country.

Defense officials reiterated that while lasting peace remains a goal, government operations against insurgent groups will proceed as usual, and the public should not expect a pause in security measures during the holiday season.
