The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) to issue an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against 17 individuals, including former officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and executives from Sunwest Corporation.
The request is intended to prevent these individuals from leaving the country while investigations into alleged irregularities in government flood-control projects are ongoing.
According to the announcement, the ILBO will cover “17 individuals, including former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials and Sunwest Corporation executives,” ensuring authorities can monitor their movements during the inquiry.
The ICI has also recommended criminal and administrative charges against the same 17 individuals, citing allegations of graft and irregularities linked to a multi-million peso flood-control project in Oriental Mindoro.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stressed that the ILBO is a monitoring tool, not a travel ban, allowing the DOJ and the Bureau of Immigration to maintain oversight while the investigation continues.
