Justice Undersecretary Jose Cadiz Jr. has stepped down from his post, a move confirmed by Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Friday, December 5. His resignation comes amid reports linking him to a contractor based in Ilocos Norte.
According to Castro, Cadiz’s decision to leave his position reflects respect—both for the public and for President Marcos Jr.’s strong stance against corruption.
“Paggalang ito sa bayan. Paggalang ito sa Pangulo. Alam nila ang gusto ng Pangulo. Dapat masawata ang korapsyon,” Castro said, emphasizing that the administration expects government officials to uphold integrity and avoid even the appearance of misconduct.
While the Palace has not yet detailed the extent of Cadiz’s alleged connection to the contractor, his immediate resignation signals the government’s ongoing effort to show zero tolerance for irregularities.
For many Filipinos, Cadiz’s exit highlights the administration’s renewed promise: hold officials accountable and keep public service clean—no excuses, no delays.
