Mixed Fuel Movement Ahead As Diesel And Kerosene Get Big Rollbacks

Motorists can expect mixed fuel price changes this Tuesday as global oil market movements continue to shake up local pump prices.
In its latest advisory, Seaoil said it will implement a ₱0.20 increase in gasoline prices starting 6 a.m., while diesel will get a hefty ₱2.90 rollback and kerosene will drop by ₱3.20 per liter.
This week’s gasoline price hike wipes out last week’s ₱0.20 rollback, while diesel and kerosene are moving in the opposite direction after both saw price increases just a week ago—₱0.60 for diesel and ₱1.30 for kerosene.
Industry watchers had already hinted at this trend. Last week, an oil company official projected up to ₱3.20 rollback in diesel and a slight ₱0.10 increase in gasoline, pointing to corrections in global crude prices. These adjustments are partly driven by hopes of a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which could help stabilize the world oil supply.
