Parang in Maguindanao del Norte is taking a big step toward digital payments with the launch of Paleng‑QR Ph Plus, a program designed to bring QR Ph-based transactions to local markets, public transportation, and small businesses.

“This initiative allows vendors, commuters, and entrepreneurs to pay and receive payments conveniently, safely, and securely,” according to organizers. Around 300 market vendors, 150 business owners, and 1,000 tricycle drivers are expected to participate in the program.

The rollout is supported by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and local financial service providers, who are set to hold account opening days to help participants open transaction accounts and fully access digital financial services.

By adopting Paleng‑QR Ph Plus, Parang is not only modernizing its local economy but also encouraging wider financial inclusion, giving residents and businesses the tools to confidently navigate the country’s growing digital payment landscape.
