John Ivan Cruz wowed the crowd with his performance in the Men’s Gymnastics Vault, sharing the gold with Malaysia’s Muhammad Aimy.
Kayla Sanchez Shines in Swimming
Swimming star Kayla Sanchez added to her medal haul with her first individual gold in the Women’s 100m Freestyle. She was also part of the victorious Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay team, helping the Philippines start strong in swimming. Kayla also secured two silvers in the 200m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke.

John Cabang Tolentino kept the gold coming in athletics, winning the Men’s 110m Hurdles with a time of 13.66 seconds. Singapore’s Chen Xiang Ang and Malaysia’s Mohammad Armin Zahril Abdul Latif finished silver and bronze, respectively.
Hokett Delos Santos Dominates Decathlon
In the Men’s Decathlon, Hokett Delos Santos emerged victorious with 6,917 points, ahead of hometown favorite Singkhon Suttisak (6,649) and Indonesia’s Richsan Idan Fauzan (6,582). Fellow Filipino Janry Ubas finished fourth.
