Philippines Celebrate Second SEA Games Gold

The Philippines just doubled its gold haul at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, and what a way to do it. The women’s 4x100 freestyle relay brought home the country’s second gold on Wednesday, with Olympian Kayla Sanchez teaming up with Heather White, Chloe Isleta and Xiandi Chua to touch in at 3:44.26.

That finish wasn’t just good — it was decisive. The Filipinas were more than two seconds ahead of silver medalist Singapore, while Vietnam settled for bronze. With Sanchez leading the pack and the rest of the quartet holding strong, the relay delivered the kind of team performance that lifts a whole delegation’s spirits.

The win also nudged the Philippines’ overall haul to 2 golds, 2 silvers and 9 bronzes — 13 medals in total as of December 10, 2025, according to the official SEA Games tally. That placed the team solidly in the mix and gave fans plenty to cheer about as the meet heads into its final days.

It’s the kind of momentum that can spark more big moments. For now, the spotlight’s on the swim team — and on a relay that reminded everyone why relays are the most fun kind of race: fast, loud, and impossible to win alone.
