President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently shared a glimpse of the future as he unveiled images of the new Caticlan Passenger Terminal, set to open in 2027. The project is expected to become a major gateway to Aklan and the world-renowned island of Boracay, supporting the country’s long-term goals in tourism and infrastructure development.

Strategically located near one of the Philippines’ busiest tourist destinations, the terminal is designed to accommodate the growing number of travelers heading to the region. Its modern facilities aim to provide a more seamless and efficient travel experience, helping to reduce congestion and improve connectivity between the mainland and the island.

President Marcos emphasized that this development aligns with the administration’s commitment to enhancing the country’s transport network and boosting economic growth through tourism. With Boracay consistently ranking among Asia’s top travel spots, the new terminal is seen as a timely investment in sustaining and elevating the visitor experience.

Once completed, the terminal is expected to support both domestic and international travel, further positioning the Philippines as a leading destination in the region. The announcement was met with optimism from local stakeholders and tourism advocates who view the project as a step forward in revitalizing the sector.

As the 2027 opening approaches, the government continues to work closely with partners in both the public and private sectors to ensure that the terminal is built to world-class standards, with sustainability and efficiency as key priorities.
