The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) climbed back above the 6,000 mark on Friday, closing at 6,036.72, up 46.72 points or 0.78%, as investors continued to hunt for bargains toward the end of the week.
Trading activity improved slightly, with total value turnover hitting ₱7.2 billion. Market breadth was mixed, with 92 gainers, 96 losers, and 57 unchanged, reflecting a cautious but improving sentiment.
Foreign investors remained net sellers, logging ₱2.97 billion in buying against ₱3.28 billion in selling, for a net outflow of ₱307.48 million. Despite the continued foreign selling, the benchmark index managed to hold its momentum—helped by selective buying in large-cap stocks.
Today’s close marks another step in the market’s slow but steady climb as traders look for signals ahead of year-end economic updates and global market cues.
