December 17, 2025 — Philippine shares closed slightly higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) gaining 23.34 points, or 0.39 percent, to finish at 6,079.02.

Total market value reached PHP 5.9 billion, as market breadth remained positive. A total of 97 stocks advanced, while 88 declined and 59 issues ended unchanged.

Despite the index’s uptick, foreign investors remained net sellers for the day. Foreign buying amounted to PHP 3.09 billion, while foreign selling reached PHP 3.80 billion, resulting in net foreign selling of PHP 706.91 million.

The mixed trading reflected cautious investor sentiment, as gains in select stocks helped lift the index even amid continued foreign outflows.
