MANILA — The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) rose modestly on Monday, closing at 6,164.53, up 29.47 points or 0.48 percent, as local and foreign investors cautiously returned to the market.

The total value of trades reached PHP 5.7 billion, with 133 stocks advancing, 93 declining, and 51 unchanged, showing a generally positive market sentiment.

Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing PHP 2.75 billion worth of shares while selling PHP 2.42 billion, resulting in a net foreign inflow of PHP 330.78 million.

The market’s steady climb comes amid mixed economic signals, but analysts say that continued foreign interest provides a boost for Philippine equities.
