MANILA — The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) surged on November 17, 2025, closing at 5,779.12, up 194.77 points or 3.49%, marking one of its strongest rallies in recent weeks.

Despite moderate trading activity, total value turnover reached ₱6.7 billion. Market breadth leaned positive, with 115 gainers, 74 losers, and 59 unchanged—a sign that investor confidence picked up across several sectors.

Foreign investors, however, remained net sellers. Data showed ₱3.33 billion in foreign buying versus ₱3.50 billion in foreign selling, resulting in a net foreign outflow of ₱171.19 million for the day.

The sharp jump in the main index comes as investors respond to improving market sentiment and bargain-hunting opportunities after recent declines.

With volatility still in play, analysts are watching whether the PSEi can sustain momentum in the days ahead or if profit-taking will temper the rally.
