Samsung Electronics brought industry leaders together in Mountain View, California for its Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2025, spotlighting how AI-powered networks are expected to drive the next era of wireless technology.

Held under the theme “Unlocking New Possibilities with AI-Centric Networks,” the event gathered around 100 participants from telecom operators, tech manufacturers, government agencies and the academic community. The summit comes at a pivotal time—just months after the 3GPP officially began 6G standardization discussions, signaling the start of the global race toward next-generation connectivity.

Samsung used the event to showcase its advances in AI-native communication technologies, including systems already deployed in real-world environments.

“We are focusing on integrating AI into communication systems to maximize user experience and network operational efficiency,” said JinGuk Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung Research. “Through the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit, we will expand collaboration with the telecommunications industry and continue our efforts to advance next-generation communication technology.”

Exploring AI’s Role in Future Wireless Technology

The summit featured keynote talks and three main expert sessions: New AI-Driven Services, AI Radio Innovation, and AI Network Innovation, each followed by panel discussions that encouraged open debate and exchange.

In the New AI-Driven Services session, speakers examined how AI could power new wireless services, particularly in areas such as AR/XR and Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC)—technologies many in the industry see as centerpieces of future 6G systems.

The AI Radio Innovation session discussed breakthroughs in AI-RAN, where artificial intelligence helps boost wireless performance and network responsiveness. Participants highlighted AI-RAN as one of the essential building blocks for 6G communication.

Meanwhile, the AI Network Innovation session focused on how AI-native technology can strengthen both wired and wireless networks, from automating operations to optimizing resources and enabling predictive maintenance for seamless connectivity.

Showcasing Real AI-RAN Technology

The event wrapped up with a technology demo that drew strong interest from attendees. Samsung and its partners presented AI-RAN–enabled base station equipment capable of analyzing conditions and making instant adjustments to improve network quality—all without human intervention.

Strengthening Global Partnerships for 6G

Samsung also underscored its growing list of partnerships in the 6G and AI-native communications space. The company is currently collaborating with major carriers and research partners, including KT, SoftBank, KDDI Research, and is a participant in the Verizon 6G Innovation Forum, a leading global consortium pushing 6G development and commercialization.

As the industry moves closer to 6G, Samsung says it plans to deepen its global collaborations and continue advancing AI-driven communication technologies to maintain its leadership in next-generation networks.
