Search and rescue operations are continuing around the clock in Kerr County as local, state, and federal responders work tirelessly to assist those impacted by the devastating floods. Hundreds of officers, deputies, and support staff remain deployed, supported by air, water, K9, and other specialized teams combing the area in the ongoing emergency response.

This afternoon brought additional rain in the upper Guadalupe basin, which has caused Johnson Creek to rise further. Officials warn that as this water flows into the Guadalupe River at Ingram, downstream levels could rise by another one to two feet. Residents near the Guadalupe River or Johnson Creek are urged to stay alert and exercise caution.

The human toll of the flooding has been heartbreaking. As of 1:30 p.m. today, authorities report that 68 people have been confirmed deceased in Kerr County — 40 adults and 28 children. Eighteen of the adults and ten of the children remain unidentified at this time. Search teams are still working to locate 10 missing campers from Camp Mystic, along with one counselor.

In a statement, officials extended their condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected. “We are working tirelessly to reunite families,” they said, urging the community to avoid spreading unverified information on social media. Misinformation, they noted, can add to the pain of families already suffering. Residents are encouraged to rely on official updates from the City of Kerrville Police Department, City Hall, and other verified sources.

Authorities also remind the public that Highway 39 west of Old Ingram Loop remains closed to everyone except residents who live within the closure zone.

A dedicated missing persons call center remains open for those seeking information about missing loved ones. The number to reach the center is 830-258-1111.

On social media, President Donald Trump offered his condolences and prayers for those affected, writing: “GOD BLESS ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH SO MUCH, AND GOD BLESS THE STATE OF TEXAS!”

This remains a developing situation, and officials stress that the safety of residents and responders remains the top priority. Please continue to follow verified sources for updates and instructions as search and rescue work continues.
