As of 8:00 AM today, 16 July 2025, the low pressure area (LPA 07F) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has intensified into a tropical depression, now named Crising. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued its first tropical cyclone bulletin for this weather disturbance at 11:00 AM, advising the public to stay updated as it moves closer to the country.
At 10:00 AM, the center of Tropical Depression Crising was located about 725 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, at 14.0°N, 130.9°E. Crising is currently moving westward at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. It packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near its center, with gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour. Its central pressure is estimated at 1004 hPa, and strong winds extend outward up to 280 kilometers from the center.
No tropical cyclone wind signals are currently in effect anywhere in the country. However, PAGASA reminds the public to remain vigilant and follow the updates in succeeding bulletins. The next advisory is scheduled for release at 5:00 PM today.
For now, residents in areas that could be affected in the coming days are encouraged to monitor official information channels and prepare as necessary, as the system continues to develop and move westward.
