Vice President Sara Z. Duterte has firmly denied allegations made by Ramil Madriaga, calling them false, unsupported, and politically motivated.

In an official statement dated December 22, 2025, Duterte made it clear that she has no personal connection with Madriaga and has never communicated with him in any capacity.

“I do not have a personal relationship with Ramil Madriaga, nor have I ever given him instructions of any kind,” she said. She added that she has never visited him in prison nor spoken to him at any time.

Addressing the photos Madriaga submitted to back his claims, Duterte dismissed them as misleading and taken out of context. According to her, the images were captured during public events where she was present and do not prove any personal link or coordination.

“These images do not support his allegations,” she stressed, noting that Madriaga was merely part of an election campaign group at the time.

Duterte also pointed out that Madriaga has failed to present any real evidence to support his accusations.

“No documents. No corroboration. Only accusations,” she said, adding that repeated claims without proof amount to nothing more than “noise.”

The Vice President further suggested that Madriaga’s actions may be driven by desperation, as he is currently facing serious criminal charges and has a prior criminal record. She claimed he is spreading false information to authorities in an apparent attempt to secure his release from detention.

Duterte did not mince words in linking the accusations to politics, saying the statements are part of a deliberate effort to undermine her possible candidacy for the presidency.

The Vice President ended her statement standing firm on her position, insisting the accusations are false and should not be used to mislead the public.
