Abueva Heads To Converge After Eye-Catching PBA Trade

Converge FiberXers has secured the services of Calvin Abueva in a trade with Titan Ultra, sending King Caralipio, Mark Omega, and Rey Suerte in exchange. The PBA Commissioner’s Office approved the transaction on Tuesday.
The move comes after Abueva delivered an outstanding performance in the recently concluded Philippine Cup, where he emerged as a serious contender for the Best Player of the Conference award, eventually won by San Miguel Beer star June Mar Fajardo.
Abueva’s transfer also marks a reunion with Converge head coach Dennis “Delta” Pineda, his longtime patron, adding familiarity and chemistry to the FiberXers’ lineup.
During his last conference with Titan Ultra, the energetic forward posted impressive averages of 23.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists—numbers that highlight why Converge made a strong push to acquire him.
With this addition, Converge is expected to gain a major boost heading into the next PBA conference.
