Get ready for a night of pure volleyball star power.
The biggest names from the Premier Volleyball League and Spikers’ Turf are set to share one stage as they headline the Volleyball All-Star Showcase on May 1 at the Candon City Arena.
On the women’s side, fans will see the best of the PVL split into two loaded squads, Team Heart and Team Hustle. Expect a stacked lineup as the league’s top stars go head-to-head in a match built for both competition and entertainment.
Meanwhile, the men’s game will feature the finest players from Spikers’ Turf, with Team Power battling Team Passion in what promises to be an intense showdown.
And here’s where it gets more exciting. Fans won’t just watch—they’ll help decide who starts.
Each team will have 14 players, but supporters get to vote for the starting seven. That includes two outside hitters, one opposite hitter, two middle blockers, one setter, and one libero. The choices come from a pool of top performers selected based on stats and positions.
The final starting lineup will be a mix of fan votes and coaches’ input, though coaches won’t be allowed to vote for their own players. It’s a system designed to balance popularity with expert insight.
Voting is already underway and runs until April 11 through the league’s official All-Star page.
The remaining players will complete the roster through a broader selection process involving coaches, players, team officials, and league committees, along with media and broadcast representatives.
Coaching duties will also raise the stakes. The head coaches will come from the top two teams after the preliminary rounds of the ongoing PVL All-Filipino Conference and Spikers’ Turf Open Conference, with assistants chosen afterward.
Game day won’t be your usual format either.
All 14 players are guaranteed time on the court. Starters will open the first set and play until the 16th point, while the reserves take over in the second set. In the third set, starters return until the eighth point before coaches can rotate players freely. It’s all designed to give every All-Star a moment in the spotlight while keeping the game competitive.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Fans can also look forward to side events like the Setter Challenge, Digging Challenge, and Serving Challenge, featuring selected All-Stars showing off their skills beyond the main matches.
One night, two leagues, and a full lineup of volleyball’s brightest stars. This showcase is shaping up to be a must-watch event for fans across the country.
