Ariana Grande is officially entering a new music era.

The Grammy-winning pop star surprised fans this week after announcing her eighth studio album, Petal, which is set for release on July 31, 2026. The project marks her first full album since Eternal Sunshine and comes as she continues balancing music with her expanding Hollywood career.

Grande revealed the album through social media alongside black-and-white cover art showing her smiling with her hair partially covering her face — a noticeably softer and more stripped-down image compared to her previous eras.

In a statement released with the announcement, Grande described Petal as “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”

The album was co-written and executive produced by longtime collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh, better known as Ilya, the producer behind several Grande hits including Problem.

Fans had already started speculating about new music earlier this month after Grande posted studio photos online. Rumors intensified when a new Instagram page featuring floral imagery and subtle references to the word “petal” appeared online.

The upcoming release also arrives during a major moment in Grande’s career. Aside from returning to music, she recently earned praise for her role as Glinda in the Wicked film franchise and is also set to begin her first concert tour since 2019 later this year.

While the official tracklist has yet to be revealed, pre-save options for the album are already available on streaming platforms. Physical editions including vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital versions are also expected to be released.
