Grace Nancy Dela Rosa, wife of Senator Ronald dela Rosa, made an emotional appeal to the Philippine judiciary, urging officials not to allow her husband to be surrendered to the International Criminal Court in connection with cases linked to the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.

In a public statement, Dela Rosa called on the courts to ensure that Filipinos facing accusations are tried within the country instead of being handed over to an international tribunal in The Hague.

She argued that allowing another Filipino to be surrendered abroad would signal weakness in the country’s justice system and questioned the need for international intervention in what she described as a politically charged case.

Dela Rosa also referenced the detention of former president Rodrigo Duterte, saying the country should learn from the experience and avoid giving up another Filipino.

According to her, Duterte had worked during his presidency to bring Filipinos home, including those convicted abroad, while current efforts appear focused on surrendering Filipinos to international authorities.

She urged members of the judiciary to protect the country’s sovereign rights and reminded them that their decisions would be remembered in history.

Dela Rosa also appealed to the public to share her message and support what she described as not only a fight for her husband, but also a fight for every Filipino and for the country.
