Bulacan Markets Go Cashless: Paleng-QR Ph Plus Launches In 3 Towns

Bulacan, Philippines — Daily payments just got easier in three towns in Bulacan as Bulakan, Calumpit, and Pandi officially went live with Paleng-QR Ph Plus.
Under this program, residents can now send and receive payments using QR Ph—not just in markets, but also in public transportation and small businesses. This means shoppers and commuters can pay safely and quickly using e-wallets or mobile banking simply by scanning a QR code—no more fumbling with cash.
Paleng-QR Ph Plus is an expanded version of the original Paleng-QR Ph, promoted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in partnership with local government units. The initiative aims to strengthen financial inclusion and make digital payments more accessible, especially for small vendors and everyday consumers.
Alongside the rollout, the BSP North Luzon Regional Office, through its Regional Economic Affairs Staff, conducted Digital Financial Literacy Sessions in the three towns. Market vendors, drivers, business owners, and residents were taught how to use QR Ph, along with essential financial skills to better manage their earnings.
With support from local governments, participants were assisted in opening accounts and obtaining their own QR codes, making it easier to receive payments from multiple banks and e-wallet providers.
With the launch of Paleng-QR Ph Plus in Bulakan, Calumpit, and Pandi, daily transactions are expected to become faster, more efficient, and more modern—a significant step toward a cash-lite economy in Bulacan
