Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac personally led the closure of two establishments in Cebu allegedly involved in illegal recruitment activities as the government ramps up its campaign against illegal recruiters and human trafficking syndicates.

Among the establishments ordered shut down was the JLPT/JFT Training and Assessment Center located at Room 7, Amanah & Sons Marketing Building along A.S. Fortuna Street in Bakilid, Mandaue City. Authorities said the center was allegedly engaged in unauthorized recruitment activities targeting individuals seeking overseas employment opportunities.

In a separate operation, the DMW also closed Anaya USA Visa Consultancy Inc., located at Suite 1603, Meridian by Avenir, Golam Drive, Mabolo, Cebu City, for alleged illegal recruitment activities.

The closures form part of the DMW's continuing efforts to protect overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and aspiring migrant workers from fraudulent schemes that promise jobs abroad without the necessary government authorization.

Cacdac emphasized the agency's commitment to safeguarding job seekers from recruiters and entities operating outside the bounds of the law. He also reminded Filipinos planning to work overseas to verify the legitimacy of recruitment agencies, consultants, and training centers through official government channels before paying fees or submitting personal documents.

The DMW continues to encourage the public to report suspicious recruitment activities as authorities strengthen their crackdown on illegal recruitment and human trafficking networks across the country.

Officials said the latest operations underscore the government's determination to ensure that overseas employment opportunities remain safe, transparent, and accessible only through licensed and accredited channels.
