The death toll in the collapsed building incident in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga has climbed to five as rescuers continue round-the-clock operations at the site.

Authorities said the nine-story building, which was still under construction, collapsed before dawn on Sunday, trapping several workers beneath the rubble.

After continuous operations, rescuers recovered another body from Sector 1 of the ground zero area on May 28 at 7:57 in the morning. The latest victim was identified as a male.

Search, rescue, and retrieval efforts remain ongoing as emergency teams continue looking for around 15 more individuals believed to still be trapped under the debris.

Heavy equipment and rescue personnel are carefully clearing the rubble while anxious families wait for updates on their missing loved ones.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the newly recovered victims as investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
