Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon inspected the EDSA Busway at the Taft Avenue Station on Thursday, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that the ongoing EDSA rehabilitation is being carried out properly.
During the inspection, Dizon said Phase 1 of the EDSA Rehabilitation Project — which covers the stretch from Roxas Boulevard to Orense in Guadalupe — is now 40 percent complete.
The public works chief also ordered the widening of sidewalks along EDSA, stressing the need to prioritize the safety of pedestrians and daily commuters as construction continues.
Dizon said the improvements are part of efforts to make EDSA safer and more convenient, especially for those who rely on public transport and walkways along the country’s busiest highway.
