Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon personally led the DPWH Campus Job Fair at Batangas State University this Monday, February 23, making it the first-ever campus job fair held by the department outside Metro Manila.
Part of the DPWH’s nationwide campus job fair caravan, the event aims to fill over 2,000 vacant positions across various offices and projects in the department. Secretary Dizon emphasized that the initiative is more than just a recruitment drive—it is an invitation to the country’s youth to be part of meaningful reforms and modernization in public service.
Students and alumni from Batangas State University crowded the campus, eager to learn about career opportunities in the government agency. By 9:00 a.m., nearly 100 applicants had already signed up, with organizers expecting the total to exceed 350 by the end of the day. The fair featured on-the-spot applications, orientation sessions, and consultations, giving attendees a firsthand look at what it means to work for the DPWH.
In his address, Secretary Dizon called on young Filipinos to embrace their energy, creativity, and idealism, encouraging them to take active roles in building the nation’s infrastructure while also shaping its future workforce. “This is your chance to be part of the change, to contribute to a department that is not just building roads and bridges, but also building careers and opportunities for the next generation,” he said.
The DPWH Campus Job Fair highlights the department’s commitment to attracting dynamic and idealistic talent nationwide. By bringing the job fair to Batangas, Secretary Dizon and the DPWH are sending a clear message: public service is not limited to Metro Manila, and young Filipinos across the country can be active partners in the government’s drive for reform, efficiency, and progress.
