Dizon Leads Drive For Stronger Bridge Of Promise In Batangas City

Batangas City is set to get a sturdier, safer bridge, and Vince Dizon is at the forefront of the effort. Following an order from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is moving to replace the aging Bridge of Promise, a key route for residents traveling from Barangay Kumintang Ibaba to Barangay Gulod Labac.
“This bridge was meant to be temporary. ‘Pansamantagal,’ as they call it — but it’s been 17 years since it was built in 2009,” Dizon explained, highlighting the urgent need for a long-term solution.
The DPWH has already requested ₱300 million in the 2027 budget to not only rebuild but also expand and reinforce the bridge, ensuring it can safely handle daily traffic and serve the community for decades to come.
With Dizon leading the push, Batangas residents can expect a bridge that’s built to last — a concrete step toward safer, more reliable infrastructure.
