Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon personally visited Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental on Monday, joining fellow Cabinet officials in assessing the situation on the ground following the recent strong earthquake and heavy rains that affected the area.
The visit came after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed government agencies to immediately address the needs of affected communities and speed up recovery efforts in the region.
During the inspection, Dizon assured residents that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is moving quickly to repair damaged roads, bridges, and classrooms to help restore normalcy as soon as possible.
The DPWH chief said the agency remains committed to rebuilding critical infrastructure and ensuring that communities can safely return to their daily routines after the disaster.
