Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto personally inspected the condition of the F. Manalo Bridge in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City, after it sustained heavy damage when barges struck it during the height of Typhoon Carina in 2024.

During the inspection, the two officials assessed the current condition of the bridge, which was among the infrastructure affected by the disaster. The typhoon caused strong currents that dislodged several barges, which then collided with the bridge structure.

Dizon said the agency is prioritizing the immediate repair and rehabilitation of damaged bridges across the country, following instructions to speed up restoration works to improve transportation flow and ensure public safety.

He stressed the importance of fast-tracking bridge repairs to ensure the safety of motorists and the smooth flow of traffic.

Government efforts continue to restore infrastructure damaged by recent calamities, including the F. Manalo Bridge.
