The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is accelerating the construction and inventory of stalled schools and classrooms nationwide to ensure students have safer and more comfortable learning environments.

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the DPWH and the Department of Education (DepEd) to collaborate in funding and completing pending school projects.

The government is creating an inventory of all unfinished school buildings to identify which projects should be prioritized and funded first. Many school construction projects across the country remain incomplete, and the national government aims to address these delays before initiating new projects.

In addition, the DPWH is fast-tracking the repair of the pothole-ridden road leading to Revilla National High School in Cavite, with plans to complete it before the rainy season. This improvement is expected to make travel safer and more convenient for students commuting to and from school.

The initiative reflects the national government’s broader effort to strengthen education infrastructure, ensuring students have access to functional and safe classrooms across the Philippines.
