DPWH Taps Private Sector To Speed Up Key Projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is teaming up more closely with the private sector to make sure the government’s infrastructure projects deliver results — and fast.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed the DPWH to accelerate priority projects nationwide, aiming to boost economic growth and public trust in government initiatives.
To achieve this, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the agency will set up a “green lane” to attract legitimate contractors and streamline their participation in bidding programs.
“Dito sa pag-attract ng mga legitimate contractors, sinabi po sa akin ni President Perry kanina na under the BOI [Board of Investments] agreements, you have green lanes for investors and companies who qualify based on a certain criteria. There's no reason why we can't do that in DPWH,” Dizon said during the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) general membership meeting on Monday.
The green lane aims to fast-track construction for priority infrastructure projects while ensuring transparency and accountability. Dizon emphasized that the DPWH is institutionalizing reforms and expanding collaborations with the private sector.
One such initiative is the Integrity Chain monitoring system, a program where PCCI serves as an accredited validator, ensuring that projects are properly tracked and executed according to standards.
By building these stronger links with the business community, the DPWH hopes to deliver infrastructure on time, support the economy, and restore confidence in government projects — showing that public-private cooperation can move the country forward efficiently.
