Eddie Gutierrez: I'm Alive, Kicking, And Grateful
Screengrab from Ruffa Gutierrez
Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez has one clear message for everyone spreading rumors online: he’s very much alive—and doing just fine.
His daughter, actress Ruffa Gutierrez, recently shared a heartfelt video of her father along with a touching caption, calling it a “pre-birthday message” from her beloved dad. As Eddie turns 84 on February 6, Ruffa said the family is celebrating a life filled with love, strength, and grace, while wishing him good health, happiness, and many more beautiful moments ahead.
The video itself quickly caught attention, especially because Eddie directly addressed fake news circulating online claiming that he had passed away.
“May kumakalat na fake news na ako raw ay sumakabilang-buhay na. Hindi po totoo iyon,” Eddie said, speaking calmly but firmly. “Buhay na buhay po ako—I'm still alive and kicking.”
With a smile, the screen legend shared that God has blessed him with more years, and he is thankful to be celebrating his 84th birthday surrounded by family. He mentioned his wife, Anabelle Rama, his children—including Ruffa—and most especially his grandchildren, who are all with him at home.
“Wag po kayong maniniwala sa mga ganyang balita,” he added, urging fans not to fall for false information online.
Eddie also took time to thank those who have prayed for him and sent kind messages, expressing gratitude to his supporters and to God for continued strength and life.
