FEU Mourns Ateneo Athletes

The Far Eastern University (FEU) Athletic Department has expressed its condolences to the Ateneo de Manila University community following the deaths of student-athletes Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
In a statement posted on Facebook, FEU joined the growing number of schools, organizations, and individuals offering support to the families and loved ones affected by the tragedy.
“The FEU Athletic Department extends its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Ateneo community following the tragic passing of student-athletes Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili.”
The university also acknowledged the grief being experienced by the victims' families, teammates, coaches, and the broader Ateneo community.
“We grieve with their families, friends, teammates, coaches, and the entire Ateneo community during this time of profound loss. May they find strength in one another, comfort in the memories shared, and peace in the outpouring of love and support from the wider collegiate sports community.”
FEU emphasized the unity shared among collegiate athletes and sports programs, saying it stands alongside Ateneo as the community mourns the loss of two young athletes.
“The Tamaraws stand in solidarity with the Ateneo Blue Eagles as we honor the lives and aspirations of Rene and Divine.”
The statement concluded with a message of support and prayer for everyone affected by the tragedy.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May they rest in peace.”
The deaths of Baterbonia and Adili have sparked an outpouring of condolences from schools, sports organizations, public officials, and members of the collegiate athletic community, many of whom have paid tribute to the two student-athletes and offered support to their grieving families.
