The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has taken immediate action after a portion of the Maharlika Highway in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte was damaged by flash floods.

According to the agency, maintenance crews were quickly sent to the area to clear the affected section and keep the road safe for both motorists and pedestrians. The damaged asphalt had only recently been laid and had not yet completed its required curing period when the floodwaters caused layers of the pavement to separate from the road surface.

DPWH assured the public that it follows strict construction standards and that full repair work will begin as soon as weather conditions improve. The agency also emphasized that the restoration will be carried out at no additional cost to the government.
