The Galeries Tower Highrisers walked away as the biggest winners of Monday night’s 2026 Premier Volleyball League Draft Lottery, landing the coveted first overall pick after the draw held at the TV5 Media Center.

Despite entering the lottery with just a 30% chance, Galeries Tower—represented by last year’s second overall pick Jean Asis—beat the odds and secured the top selection in what is expected to be a franchise-changing draft.

Asis could not hide her excitement after the result, saying how meaningful it is for the team to finally have the first say in the draft order.

Capital1, which had the highest probability at 40% based on league standings and weighted averages, slipped to the second pick. ZUS Coffee will select third, while Choco Mucho settles for the fourth pick.

The rest of the first-round order sees Akari picking fifth, followed by Nxled, Farm Fresh, PLDT, and reigning powerhouse Creamline rounding out the top nine.

PVL commissioner Sherwin Malonzo and Games and Amusements Board chairman Atty. Manuel S. Plaza III oversaw the lottery proceedings.

Malonzo noted that the draft continues to grow deeper each year, especially with a fresh wave of talent entering the league.

And this year’s pool is no exception.

A total of 42 aspiring pros are set to go through the Draft Combine on May 28 and 29 at the Gameville Ballpark in Mandaluyong City, where teams will get a closer look at the next generation of PVL stars. Applicants still have until June 1 to withdraw before the final draft list is locked in.

Leading the much-anticipated class is Alyssa Solomon, the 6-foot-1 opposite hitter from National University, who returns to the Philippines after gaining valuable experience in Japan’s SV.League with Osaka Marvelous. Widely projected as a top pick, Solomon brings championship pedigree and international exposure that immediately raises her value in the draft.

She is joined by a strong UAAP core headlined by setters, liberos, and middle blockers who have already made their mark in collegiate volleyball. Names like Camilla Lamina, Bernadett “Detdet” Pepito, and Niña Ytang are expected to draw strong attention from PVL franchises looking to rebuild or reinforce their rosters.

The draft pool also features standout talents from the NCAA, provincial programs, and even a Fil-foreign prospect in Jade Fuentes, adding more depth and variety to an already loaded class.

With 42 players entering the system, this year’s draft is shaping up to be more than just a selection process—it could be a turning point for several franchises aiming to shift the balance of power in the league.

The 2026 PVL Draft will take place at Novotel Manila, with anticipation building for what could be one of the most talent-rich rookie classes in recent memory.
